Cookie Policy.
Short answer: we don't use cookies to track you. Effective August 14, 2026.
The short version
The Logbook marketing website (logbook.net.nz) uses no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our analytics provider, Plausible, is cookieless by design. The web companion at /app/* uses browser localStorage only to keep you signed in via Firebase Auth — this is essential to the functionality and is not used for tracking.
What we don't use
- No advertising cookies (Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, etc.).
- No cross-site tracking cookies.
- No third-party analytics with persistent identifiers (Google Analytics, Hotjar, FullStory).
- No fingerprinting or device-level tracking.
- No data brokers or audience-targeting integrations.
What we do use
- Plausible Analytics — privacy-first, cookieless analytics for the marketing site. Records aggregate, anonymous pageviews and referrers. Hosted in the EU. No personal data is collected.
- Firebase Auth (web companion only) — the
/appcompanion stores an authentication token inlocalStorageso you stay signed in. This is strictly necessary for the service. It is not used to track you, and clearing it simply signs you out. - Session-level functional storage — minimal in-memory state for UI preferences (e.g. menu open/closed). Not persisted, not used for tracking.
Controlling browser storage
Every modern browser lets you clear or block site storage. Clearing Logbook's storage will sign you out of the web companion — your account and data are untouched on our servers.
Cookie Policy changes
If we ever change how we use browser storage, we'll update this page and announce material changes the same way we announce Privacy Policy changes (in-app or email, at least 14 days in advance).
